Obituary for Wanda Fay Johnson (Debord)
Wanda Fay Debord Johnson, 85, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023. Wanda was born June 26, 1937 in Reading, Ohio, a daughter of the late George Benton and Virginia Turner Debord. Wanda was the beloved wife of Elmer Lee Johnson, Jr. for 58 years.
Wanda was a seamstress for Jackson Chair of Danville for 21 years and was a member of the Perryville Church of God. Her greatest joy was in spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed singing, reading and fishing.
In addition to her husband, Elmer, Wanda is survived by four children, Troy Lee (Brenda) Johnson, Judy (Barry) Wilson, Vicky Cox, Kristy (John) Stamper, fifteen grandchildren, Ashley Raider, Maegan (Rodney) Braymer, Brittany (Chase) Broach, Mitzi Johnson, Maverick (Katie) Thornton, Casey (Lee) Wilson, Nicholas (Melody) Wilson, Alexandria (Anthony) Bryan, Jimmie Dale Harrison, Caleb (Rae) Lee, Tracy (Cody) Roberts, John Stamper, Jr., Kassidy (Ethan) Roby, Maressa (Dylan) Garrett, Bridget (Jaden) Wilson, twenty two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Bonnie Overbay.
Including her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by a son, Tracy Johnson, and siblings, Irene Benge, Winfred Debord and Arnold Debord.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday February 24, 2023 at the Perryville Church of God with Rev. Judy Willson, Rev. Jonathon Walker, and Rev. Bobby “Buck” Fultz officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Debord Family Cemetery in Broadhead. Visitation will be from 4 -8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Perryville Church of God.
Pallbearers will be John Stamper, Jr., Chase Broach, Nicholas Wilson, Maverick Thorton, Rodney Braymer, Jimmie Dale Harrison, Ethan Roby, and Jaden Marks.
Honorary bearers will be Wanda’s granddaughters, great-grand-children, and Scott Gordon.
Services are under the direction of Walden Funeral Home.
