Obituary for Tina Jo Carey

Vestina “Tina” Jo Carey, 50, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022. She was born in Danville, Kentucky on April 20, 1972, a daughter of William Jesse Carey and the late Judy Carol Brown.
Tina earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Georgetown College and enjoyed woodworking, making crafts, gardening and canning, sports, horse racing, and was a former coach for the Mercer County Girls Basketball Team. She was an impressive athlete in both high school and college and was recently inducted into the Boyle County High School Sports Hall of Fame.
In addition to her father, Billy and his companion Connie Edwards, Tina is survived by two sisters, Sandy (Brian) Wiley and Jeanie (James) Martin, 4 nieces, Danielle (Lee) Short, Cariebeth (Kyle) Griffin, Paige Wiley (Jacob), and Caylee Martin, 2 nephews, Chad (Brooke) Yates and Trevor (Robin) Wiley, great nieces and nephews, Jeremiah, Eli, Hayden Short, Lily Wiley, Bentlee Truscott, Hunter, Finn, Briggs Yates, Ayden Vest and Amery Griffin.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Walden Funeral Home with David Walden officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Perryville. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 5 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, May 18th after 9:00 a. m., also at Walden Funeral Home.
Serving as Pallbearers are Tina’s nieces and nephews, Danielle Short, Cariebeth Griffin, Paige Wiley, Caylee Martin, Chad Yates and Trevor Wiley.
