Obituary for Kenneth Harlan Godbey
Kenneth Harlan Godbey, 73, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020. He was born July 10, 1947 in Casey County, Kentucky, one of seven children of the late Arnold and Iva Bastin Godbey.
Kenneth was a member of Doctor’s Fork Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making knives. Mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Kristen Leann Tharp, Cheri Melissa (Shawn) Rousey, four grandchildren, Kelly Tharp, Dakota and Wyatt Rousey, Annabelle Roller, four siblings, Travis, Edward, Neal Godbey, and Helen Pike.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Autumn Godbey Roller, and two siblings, Juanita Shelton and Russell Godbey.
The funeral service will be 5:00 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Walden Funeral Home Perryville with Dean Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3-5:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Dakota and Wyatt Rousey, Danny Godbey, Trent Miller, Zack Bottom, and Justin Pendleton.
Honorary bearers will be Kelly Tharp, Annabelle Roller, and Dylan Turpin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Walden Funeral Home to assist with the funeral expenses.
