Obituary for Jean E. Lewallen (Brown)

Jean Eileen Brown Harstine Lewallen, 97, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022. She was born August 14, 1925 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles T. and Margaret Cross Brown. She was the widow of D.C. Lewallen who passed away in 1990.
Jean was a Kentucky Colonel and an avid Boyle County Rebel and UK Wildcat fan. She was a retired bookkeeper having worked for Tim Montgomery, Douglas Plumbing, Danville Rental Sales and Farmers Bank. She was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School and Business College in Akron, Ohio. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Danville.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Ellen Kleckner, grandson, Scotty (Jennifer) Chambers, a great-granddaughter, Amber (Jason) Selby, and two great-great granddaughters, Macie and Haley Selby.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by a son, Gary Dale Harstine and a sister, Peggy Barrett.
The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Walden Funeral Home in Perryville with Bro. Doug Wesley officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. also at Walden Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Chambers, Scott Sexton, Jason Selby, and John Bohman.
