James “Sam” Campbell Montgomery, 83, passed away Wednesday October 24, 2018. He was born September 20, 1935 in Danville, a son of the late Thompson and Evelyn Wilkerson Montgomery. James was a self-employed concrete finisher for nearly 60 years.Survivors include daughters, Kathy, Karon, Patty Montgomery, Sharon Goodlett, grandchildren, Terry and Brian Montgomery, Jason Perry, Jessica Laux, Adam Janes, Heather Goodlett, five great-grandchildren, brother Kenneth Montgomery, and companion for many years, Elizabeth West, along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday October 27, 2018 at Parksville Cemetery with Monty (Monk) and WC Wilkerson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m., (noon) – 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Walden Funeral Home Perryville.Pallbearers will be Brian, Terry, and Randy Montgomery, Walter, Simon, and Chris Gilpin.Honorary bearers are Dan and Troy Montgomery.
