Obituary for Gary Michael Taylor

Gary Michael Taylor, 66, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021. He was born in Boyle County, Kentucky on December 7, 1954, a son of Wanda Baugh Taylor and the late W.E. Taylor, Jr. After 42 years of marriage, Gary was as much in love with his wife, Joyce Hourigan Taylor as the day they met.
Gary was a member of Perryville Baptist Church and spent his life farming, which was his passion. If you knew Gary, you know he could grow any vegetable and always enjoyed sharing his crops with others. God and his relationship with his family was very important to Gary and he was always ready to spend time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loving everyday the Lord gave him.
In addition to his mother, Wanda, and wife, Joyce, Gary is survived by four children, Ashley (Travis) Taylor Miller, Joni (Josh) Horn, Michael (Karlie) Taylor, Parker Dale Taylor, and two bonus daughters, Ashley Koettel and Dreama Sparrow. Nine grandchildren also survive, MaKaylee, Maddie Jane, Grace and Kinsley Miller, Hannah, Jewelya, and Eli Horn, Bo Michael and Tilden Reed Taylor, three siblings, Jerry (Jackie) Taylor, Rita (Steve) Bailey, Lisa (Pete) Bottom and numerous foster children.
Along with his father, Gary was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Kay Taylor.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Perryville Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Hackworth officiating. Also, Gary’s children, Michael, Ashley and Joni will be sharing special memories of their dad. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery with Matthew Bottom officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 5 – 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday before the service from 10 -11:00a.m.
Pallbearers will be Lowell Greer, Michael Taylor, Travis Miller, Eli Horn, Josh Horn, Chris Taylor, and Taylor Bottom.
Honorary bearers are Ronnie Kirby and Jeff Sparks
The family request donations in Gary’s memory be given to the Perryville Baptist Church Youth towards growth and development in their Christian walk.
Services are under the direction of Walden Funeral Home.
