Obituary for Fairley Edward Holt

Fairley Edward Holt, 74, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born in Boyle County on December 16, 1943 a son of the late Aubrey Jackson and Ella Frances Baugh Holt and was the loving husband of Beverly Ann Toomey Holt for 53 years.Fairley served his Country in the United States Army and the National Guard and was a member of North Rolling Fork Baptist Church. According to his son-in-law Phillip, Fairley was a true renaissance man, he could fix just about anything and Phillip enjoyed talking about guns, old cars and motorcycles with Fairley. His “Little Buddy” Branden said Great-Grandpa Fairley was his go to person to fix anything and to get advice. They also enjoyed four-wheeling together. Angie loved looking at the flowers in the yard with her Dad and said he enjoyed target shooting and re-loading his own shells. Charlotte said her Dad taught her to play the guitar at nine years of age and they enjoyed being in the Gospel group Surrendered with each other. Beverly however, summed it all up by saying her husband was so very special in every way and she enjoyed going fishing with him just to be with him because she did not like to fish.In addition to his wife Beverly, Fairley is survived by daughters, Angie (James) Lowery, Charlotte (Phillip) Smock, granddaughter, Ashley Taylor, great grandchildren Branden Shayne Phillips and Addalynn Taylor, Brother Marvin (Katherine) Holt and Sister Alma Plumer.Including his parents Fairley was preceded in death by a son, Troy Edward Holt and siblings, Henry Jackson and Billy Joe Holt, and Elsie Marie Wofford.The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Walden Funeral Home Perryville with Bro. Jr. Fields and Rev. Phillip Smock officiating. Burial will follow in Holt Cemetery. Visitation will be at Walden Funeral Home on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 5 – 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Branden Phillips, Phillip Smock, James Lowery, Jason Taylor, Marvin Holt, and Gary Pike.Honorary bearers are Randy, Larry, and Jeff Wofford, Rodney Holt, Jack Patton, Kevin Wilson, Dean and Jackie Holt, Bart Moore and David Stratton.After the burial, all are invited to a meal at Boyle County Fire Station #5.
