Obituary for Charles Leslie "Shorty" Lanham
Charles Leslie “Shorty” Lanham, 77, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021. Shorty was born May 9, 1944 in Danville, Kentucky the son of Goble and Mary Lee Wofford Lanham.
Shorty was a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed horse, fishing and horse racing. He was a former professional wrestler and drag racing champion.
Survivors include three children, Pamela (Rob) Combs, Charles (Jill) Lanham, Jr., Lee (Paige) West, three grandchildren, Chris Drake, Robert Combs, Anthony Lanham, two great-grandchildren, Brianna “Munchkin” and Christopher Drake, two sisters, Juanita Cooley (the late Randall), and Clara Ann (Howard) Staley.
In addition to his parents, Shorty was preceded in death by a son Tony West.
The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Walden Funeral Home Perryville with David Walden officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Walden Funeral Home. The committal service will be private at Parksville Cemetery.
